Authentic Stories from Diners
Incredible dining experience. Elegant and delicious. Not too snobby, but still classy. We had a lobster, grilled scallops and my favourite padrone papers. All was delicious. A bottle of Cava to top it all up. Definitely recommend it. And we’ll definitely come back. Gracias 🙏
One of the very few restaurants I would not recommend to anyone. Could be our luck but the experience was quite bitter. The Pulpo a la brasa was overcooked and a bit too salty. We also ordered the Puerta del Mar salad (forgot to take a pic), which was also too salty and too much sauce. On the plus side, the shrimps were fresh and there was a decent amount. We ordered the Seafood Paella as main dish, and things got worse. The rice was undercooked and lack of salt and the langoustines and a shrimp were uncooked. The dish became pretty much inedible at that point. When we first complained, we were offered free drinks or dessert, which we declined. The service was unprofessional. We were not acknowledged upon walking in, as the host and another waitress kept discussing with each other while we were waiting to get seated. After the paella issue, we asked for the bill and was charged full price. We did get a small discount after asking for it, but found this a bit off-putting as my partner could have gotten food poisoning from the raw food. It would have been a nice (and expected) gesture to offer a discount, or not charge the dish at all considering we only ate less than a quarter of it. Again, could be our luck, but in my opinion, we could have gotten better service and better quality meal at a more affordable place. It was overall a very disappointing experience. For the price, it was definitely not worthwhile.
We had a lovely dinner at Puerta Del Mar in Valencia! The lobster and asparagus were absolutely amazing, perfectly cooked and so flavorful that I actually ordered the asparagus twice! ♥️♥️ My partner ordered the solomillo, which came out a bit dry and not medium rare as requested, but the staff handled it very well and quickly replaced it with a new one, much appreciated. The atmosphere was lively with music (a bit on the loud side, but still possible to have a conversation), which made the evening feel fun and energetic. Overall, it’s a great spot for seafood lovers and a nice place to enjoy a vibrant dinner in the city center. Definitely worth visiting!
Food, service (the staff were wonderful), and atmosphere were phenomenal. I would recommend the grilled octopus entree and lobster main course (which I also got with a seafood side salad, as lobster dishes never come with side dishes). Dined like a king for 100 EUR (which also included two glasses of wine and the tip), which was worth every cent. If you must visit any one restaurant in Valencia, dine at Puerta del Mar.
Excellent location, food, and service. We ordered chargrilled black leak with hummus and bread as starters and the traditional Valencian paella as our main dish. The service was incredibly fast and attentive. However, when ordering the paella, the staff informed us that it takes up to 40 minutes to prepare, as it is made fresh to order—which we really appreciated. The atmosphere was also great, there was live music. Would definitely recommend!
