Tour Details

This combo ticket offers access to two of Valencia's most prominent cultural and educational attractions: the Hemisfèric and the Science Museum, both located within the City of Arts and Sciences complex. The experience begins at the Hemisfèric, an architectural icon shaped like a giant eye, where visitors view an IMAX film or digital projection that covers topics ranging from astronomy to marine life, presented on a vast concave screen. After the film, guests move to the adjacent Science Museum, a sprawling interactive space designed to engage visitors with hands-on exhibits about physics, biology, and technology. The itinerary is self-paced, allowing for flexibility in how long to spend at each venue.

At the Hemisfèric, the main attraction is the digital cinema with its advanced projection technology, offering crisp visuals and immersive sound that transport viewers into scientific narratives. The building itself, designed by Santiago Calatrava, is a subject of interest, with its sleek white curves and reflecting pools that mirror its form. Moving to the Science Museum, visitors encounter a variety of thematic zones including the 'Principe Felipe' interactive galleries, where one can manipulate exhibits on energy, mechanics, and the human body. Noteworthy installations include life-sized dinosaur models, robotics demonstrations, and experimental laboratories where natural phenomena are demonstrated in real time.

Visitors navigate the complex independently, with tickets granting entry only. There is no guided narration included, so the experience depends on personal interest and initiative. The City of Arts and Sciences is well connected by public transport, with the Alameda metro station nearby. The site is pedestrian-friendly, with smooth walkways and ample seating areas for breaks.

Groups of all sizes can be accommodated, though busy periods may require patience at popular exhibits. This combined ticket is ideal for individuals or families interested in science and architecture. It suits those who appreciate visual media presentations and hands-on learning without the pressure of guided tours. Visitors with an interest in modern engineering and urban design will find the setting particularly engaging.

It is less suitable for those looking for a traditional sightseeing boat tour experience, as the category listing does not reflect the actual activities involved.

What Makes This Tour Special

This ticket combines access to two major attractions in one purchase, allowing visitors to experience a high-tech film presentation and extensive scientific exhibits in a single outing. The Hemisfèric's IMAX theatre offers one of the largest screens in Spain, while the Science Museum's interactive design encourages active participation rather than passive observation.
  • Access to both the Hemisfèric IMAX and the Science Museum with one ticket
  • Opportunity to engage with cutting-edge audiovisual technology and interactive exhibits
  • Located within the architecturally significant City of Arts and Sciences
  • Flexible, self-paced visit with no time restrictions between venues

Historical Background

The City of Arts and Sciences was developed in the late 20th century as part of Valencia's urban renewal, transforming the former riverbed of the Turia River into a cultural and scientific hub. This area symbolizes Valencia’s transition from its industrial past to a future focused on innovation and education.
