Tours & Activities in Valencia

This combined ticket grants visitors access to two of Valencia's most celebrated attractions: Bioparc Valencia and the Oceanogràfic. The day begins with a visit to Bioparc, an innovative zoo designed around the concept of zooimmersion, where enclosures replicate the natural habitats of the animals. Guests will spend several hours walking through carefully recreated African savannas, tropical forests, and wetlands, observing species ranging from gorillas and lions to hippos and flamingos. After a break for lunch, the journey continues to the Oceanogràfic, the largest aquarium in Europe. Here, visitors can wander through a series of underwater tunnels and thematic aquariums featuring Mediterranean, Arctic, and tropical marine life. The route is flexible, allowing guests to move at their own pace between the two venues, which are roughly 15 minutes apart by car or public transport. At Bioparc Valencia, key stops include the elephant enclosure, where the sound of trumpeting and the sight of these massive creatures roaming freely set the scene; the gorilla habitat, which offers close-up views of social groups interacting among dense foliage; and the savanna area, where zebras, giraffes, and antelopes graze side by side. Guests will notice the design emphasis on minimal barriers, creating an immersive feel. Moving to the Oceanogràfic, visitors encounter the Arctic Ocean tank with its polar bears and walruses, the shark tunnel where visitors feel surrounded by various shark species, and the dolphinarium, where daily shows combine education and performance. The aquarium also features a large collection of jellyfish, rays, and deep-sea creatures, with detailed information on marine ecosystems. Practical aspects of the tour include self-guided access using the combo ticket, which eliminates the need to buy separate entry passes. Both locations are designed for independent exploration, with multilingual signage and optional audio guides available on site. Bioparc and Oceanogràfic are accessible by public transport, taxis, or private vehicles; many visitors choose to use the local Metro and bus lines. Facilities such as cafés, gift shops, and rest areas are available at both venues. Group sizes vary as the ticket is for individual or family use, and no guided commentary is included, allowing a flexible pace. Visitors should allocate at least four hours combined to fully appreciate both sites. This tour is ideal for families, wildlife enthusiasts, and anyone interested in both terrestrial and marine animals. It suits those who prefer a combination of nature and science in a city setting and appreciate the opportunity to move at their own speed without the constraints of a guided group. The ticket offers good value for visitors planning to spend a full day in the City of Arts and Sciences area, catering to those who want a broad overview of Valencia's commitment to conservation and education through its animal parks.

This combined ticket offers visitors a comprehensive experience of Valencia, starting with priority entry into the Bioparc Valencia, a zoo known for its 'zoo-immersion' design that allows guests to observe animals in environments closely resembling their natural habitats. Following the visit to the Bioparc, the ticket includes a hop-on hop-off bus pass valid for either 24 or 48 hours, enabling travelers to navigate Valencia's key urban landmarks at their own pace. The bus route covers a broad circuit of the city, including stops at historical plazas, architectural marvels, and seaside promenades. Key stops along the bus route include the City of Arts and Sciences, where futuristic structures rise alongside the Turia Riverbed park; the Central Market, a bustling spot filled with the fragrance of fresh produce and local delicacies; and the historic Plaza de la Virgen, surrounded by Gothic and Baroque architecture. On the way, passengers will also pass by the Valencia Cathedral, home to the Holy Grail relic, and the lively beaches lined with palm trees where the Mediterranean breeze carries the scent of salt and sea. The Bioparc experience is self-guided, allowing visitors to move through various ecosystems such as the African savannah, Equatorial forests, and Madagascan landscapes, observing animals like lions, gorillas, and lemurs in settings designed without visible barriers. The hop-on hop-off bus features open-top double-decker vehicles, providing panoramic views of Valencia's cityscape. Audio commentary in multiple languages offers historical and cultural insights at each stop. Group sizes are flexible as the bus accepts individual riders, and tickets can be used over two consecutive days for extensive sightseeing. This tour suits visitors interested in combining wildlife observation with urban sightseeing, particularly those who prefer a flexible itinerary. Families with children will find the Bioparc engaging and educational, while those keen on architectural and cultural landmarks can benefit from the bus route's coverage. The combined ticket provides convenience and value, easing the logistics of visiting two top attractions in the city.

The El Toro y la Luna Flamenco Show in Valencia offers an evening filled with passionate flamenco performances set in an intimate venue near the historic city center. Guests are welcomed into a traditional Spanish tablao where the atmosphere is charged with the rhythmic strumming of the guitar and the sharp clapping of hands that punctuate each song. The show typically lasts approximately 90 minutes, during which audiences experience a series of dance and song performances that tell stories of struggle, love, and celebration, all integral to flamenco's expressive nature. The venue is located within walking distance from the Turia Gardens, allowing visitors to enjoy a leisurely stroll before or after the performance. While categorized under boat tours, this event focuses solely on the flamenco experience rather than a water-based itinerary. During the show, key moments include the intricate footwork of the bailaor (male dancer) and bailaora (female dancer), whose sharp, precise movements contrast with the soulful vocalizations of the cantaor. The guitarists provide both melody and rhythm, weaving complex patterns that underscore the dancers’ intensity. Visitors will notice the subtle exchange between performers, a silent conversation communicated through eyes, hands, and posture. The intimate setting allows guests to also observe the traditional costumes — flowing dresses with ruffles and bold colors — and the occasional snapping of fingers or stamp of heels that punctuate the performance. This sensory experience is heightened by the subtle scent of polished wood and faint traces of incense or perfumed air common in Spanish cultural venues. Practical details include reserved seating to ensure a comfortable view of the stage, with instant ticket confirmation and mobile ticketing for convenience. The show is designed for small to medium-sized audiences, maintaining a close connection between performers and spectators. The guide style is non-verbal during the performance but includes brief introductions and explanations in Spanish and English beforehand. Transport to the venue is typically independent, as it is centrally located and accessible by public transit or a short taxi ride. The venue maintains a relaxed yet respectful environment to maintain the authenticity of the flamenco experience. This flamenco show suits visitors who appreciate traditional Spanish music and dance and those interested in cultural performances that emphasize emotional storytelling through movement. It is ideal for travelers who prefer a seated, indoor event that offers an authentic taste of Valencia's artistic heritage without the need for extensive physical activity. Flamenco enthusiasts and those curious about Andalusian influences within the broader Spanish culture will find this show particularly engaging.

Authentic Stories from Diners
We had the most amazing dinner!! Small, cosy and intimate. The food was incredible. Definitely value for money. We’ve tasted a lot of ingredients we’ve never tried or even heard of before. The staff are fluent in all kind of languages (Spanish, French, English, etc.) Loved observing the preparation from the kitchen. 🌟 You won’t be disappointed!
The Fierro, which seats a maximum of 10 people, has opened in 2015, so there will be a 10-year anniversary surprise menu on that day... the staff are not revealing what is served. Only after the courses will the structure of the meal be explained. Sometimes I already know before the explanation, sometimes I am really curious because not everything (or anything at all) can be deduced from the food. I find the concept exciting, but at the end of the meal I would have liked to have received more than just a printed overview with the names of the 10 anniversary courses, as the English explanations provided by the Spanish restaurant manager were sometimes difficult to understand. Things also move incredibly fast at Fierro. 14 courses plus espresso plus bread in 2 hours and 10 minutes. It's the chef's philosophy, and I like it when things don't drag on forever, but the pace was actually a little too fast for me. My rating of the food is purely subjective (0 = acceptable, appropriate for the level of the restaurant, - worse, + better) We are greeted with an empanada with a good level of spiciness (-) and pickled vegetables (-), followed by the first appetizer from the 10-year menu, oysters under a seaweed coin (-). Everything tastes good, but is not quite up to par in terms of creativity. In many fine dining restaurants, the focus is on giving an insight into the chef's creativity in the aperitifs, but this is somewhat different here due to the 10-year-menu concept. We continue with a wonderful combination based on pumpkin. Hidden beneath the crackers are small cubes of blue cheese and roasted nuts. It's pretty to look at and fun to explore (0). Next up are cotton fish and mascarpone in praline form with peanuts—crunchy and delicious. (0) The high standard continues, and for the next course I get to lend a hand myself (“Criolla Style Prawn”) and squeeze the head to get to all the flavors: gamberino on a bed of tomato, bell pepper, and onion (0) A delightful surprise: spaghetti that turns out to be potatoes on the second bite, with hollandaise sauce and Bressaola from Iberica pork (+). The camouflage and deception continue in the next course. What at first glance looks like far too much caviar turns out to be tapioca with trout caviar hidden inside. Sprinkled with octopus. Great texture (+) The first meat course consists of sweetbreads with Mornay sauce and a kiwi and apple compote (0, the jus a bit strong in flavor after the more restrained profiles that came before). “Baby squids” are definitely not for me. The small squids are tough and unfortunately leave a slimy taste in the mouth (- -). The last savory course breaks my heart a little. The pigeon is cooked to perfection, but the presentation doesn't quite measure up. Really, really unfortunate. (-) The pre-dessert is called “Corn Tocinillo” (-) The first dessert is chocolate, a grapefruit foam, orange cream, and citrus caviar - I would have preferred to eat this right after the pigeon—very creative, well-rounded flavor, great (+). The meal is rounded off with a few cheese creations, accompanied by a granita with mate (0) The service is attentive and very friendly, and it's also nice to chat with chef German after the last course. Recommended.
A small, cozy restaurant with refined dishes. I really enjoyed the pairing (a mix of wine and non-alco drinks), which perfectly complemented the food. The only drawback I would note is that the description of the dishes was quite modest, and it was difficult to clearly hear the sommelier. Overall, I recommend it to slightly pampered gourmands 🩶
I had read some mixed reviews about Fierro before booking, with people mentioning the music, the mood, and the concept itself. Still, I decided to go for the full tasting menu – and I’m so glad I did. The experience was absolutely wonderful. Both the dining room and the kitchen worked in perfect harmony, with a unique synchronicity between service and cuisine. Throughout the evening, even the chefs came out to serve and explain some of the dishes, which added a personal and authentic touch. The progression of delicate dishes paired beautifully with a crescendo in the music, making the whole menu feel like a carefully designed journey. The vibe here is very different from many Michelin-starred restaurants. While I also appreciate the luxury-first approach of classic fine dining, Fierro puts conviviality front and center, surrounded by excellent wines and exceptional food. It never feels intimidating to chat with the people at your table, the servers, or even the chefs – the atmosphere is more relaxed and conversational, while still maintaining the highest culinary standards. This is an experience I would recommend to anyone with an open mind for new ways of dining. The cuisine is innovative, but what really sets Fierro apart is how the entire experience goes a step further towards what truly matters: enjoying great food, sharing smiles, and having a memorable time. I had decided for my trip to Valencia to book a couple of Michelin-starred restaurants. I chose Fierro for the tasting menucand I am glad I did. Every aspect of the meal - from the service to the presentation to the quality and creativity of each dish - was perfection. I can't wait to return.
